Polish Medical Platform to provide open access portal to health care research

Sages sp.z o.o and the Warsaw University of Technology, have agreed on joint participation with the Wroclaw Medical University for the project to develop an open information portal, named the Polish Medical Platform (PPM).

The new Research Information Management (RIM) platform focuses on providing open access to publications and research data, promoting broad access to management of knowledge, contributing to better promotion of achievements and seeking partners for further cooperation, along with faster commercialisation of research results.

The project implements OMEGA-PSIR software which is developed at the Institute of Computer Science, Warsaw University of Technology. The software makes it feasible for accessing broad research potential data in the field of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, public health, occupational health and safety, ergonomics, and health protection.

The platform will compile information on medical scientific publications, ongoing research, obtained patents, research equipment and profiles of scientists from the institutions implementing the project, and, in the future, from all institutions interested in cooperation.

The project which is led by Wroclaw Medical University works in collaboration with seven different institutions involving Medical University of Bialystok, Medical University of Gdańsk, Medical University of Silesia (Katowice), Medical University of Lublin, Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Medical University of Warsaw, and Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine in Lodz.

The project is being implemented with funds obtained under the Digital Poland Operational Programme).
