India reported 49,701 fresh COVID-19 incidences on Saturday. The country has recorded 3,02,32,320 SARS CoV2 infections so far. The active infection load presently comprised 5,81,337 cases, according to data from the union health ministry. As many as 1,255 deaths were also recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities from the pandemic to 3,95,780.
Kerala reported 12,118 new incidences on Saturday. The total number of infections has climbed to 28,77,990, active infections comprised 1,01,110 cases. As many as 118 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 12,818.
As many as 9,812 fresh cases and 511 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Saturday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,20,881 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 60,26,847 of which 1,21,251 are active cases.
Tamil Nadu recorded 5,755 new incidences on Saturday. As many as 150 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 32,051. The total case tally has reached 24,55,332, of which 47,318 are active infections.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Saturday included Tamil Nadu (5,415), Karnataka (4,272), Andhra Pradesh (4,147),Odisha (3,554), Assam (2,640), West Bengal (1,894) and Telangana (1,028).
