India reported 48,768 fresh COVID-19 incidences on Friday. The country has recorded 3,01,82,619 SARS CoV2 infections so far. The active infection load presently comprised 5,90,391 cases, according to data from the union health ministry. As many as 1,183 deaths were also recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities from the pandemic to 3,94,525.
Kerala reported 11,546 new incidences on Friday. The total number of infections has reached 28,65,872, active infections comprised 1,00,234 cases. As many as 118 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 12,700.
As many as 9,604 fresh cases and 511 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Friday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,20,370 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 60,17,035 of which 1,20,715 are active cases.
Tamil Nadu recorded 5,755 new incidences on Friday. As many as 150 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 32,051. The total case tally has reached 24,55,332, of which 47,318 are active infections.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Friday included Andhra Pradesh (4,458), Karnataka (3,310), Odisha (2,912), Assam (2,793), West Bengal (1,933) and Telangana (1,061).
