India recorded 41,755 new COVID-19 incidences on Wednesday. With as many as 578 fatalities reported on the day, the overall number of deaths from the pandemic has escalated to 4,12,019. The country has recorded 3,09,86,803 cases so far, of which, the active infection load comprises 4,26,018 cases, according to the data from the union health ministry.
With 15,637 new incidences, Kerala reported the highest number of daily Covid cases on Wednesday. The total number of infections has reached 31,03,310 in the state, active infections comprised 1,17,709 cases. As many as 128 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 14,938.
As many as 8,602 cases and 170 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Wednesday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,26,390 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 61,81,247, of which 1,06,764 are active cases.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Wednesday included Andhra Pradesh (2,591), Tamil Nadu (2,458), Odisha (2,074), Assam (2,046) and Karnataka (1,990).
