India’s new COVID-19 incidences drop to 2.22L on Sunday

India reported 2,22,704 new COVID-19 incidences on Sunday. The total confirmed cases recorded thus far in the nation have climbed to 2,67,51,681, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load presently comprised 27,16,356 cases.As many as 4,452 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 3,03,751.

Tamil Nadu recorded 35,483 new cases on Sunday. The total case tally has reached 18,42,344 while the active infections went up to 2,94,143. As many as 422 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 20,468.

Maharashtra reported 1,320 new COVID-19 related deaths and 26,672 fresh cases on Sunday. The total case tally of the state rose to 55,79,897 while the active infection load comprised 3,48,395 cases. The overall fatalities have reached 88,620.

Karnataka confirmed 25,979 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 24,24,904. The active cases of the state stood at 4,72,986. As many as 548 new deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 25,282.

Kerala reported 25,820 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 23,47,967. The active caseload of the state comprised 2,77,595 cases. As many as 188 new deaths pushed the toll to 7,359.

Andhra Pradesh reported 22,610 new cases and 114 deaths on the day. The total caseload rose to 15,21,142 while the active infections stood at 2,09,134. The death toll went up to 9,800.

Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Sunday included Andhra Pradesh (18,767), West Bengal (18,422), Odisha (12,852), Rajasthan (6,521), Punjab (5,021), Uttar Pradesh (4,715), Haryana (4,400), Bihar (4,002), Gujarat (3,794), Assam (3,563), Madhya Pradesh (3,375), Jammu and Kashmir (3,308), Chhattisgarh (3,306), Uttarakhand (3,050), Telangana (2,242), Jharkhand (1,345), Delhi (1,649), Goa (1,621), Puducherry (1,448) and Himachal Pradesh (1,309).
