India’s daily new infections fall to 36,000 on Monday

India witnessed a huge dip in its fresh COVID-19 cases with only 36,000 cases reported on Monday. As many as 36,140 new incidences pushed the nation’s infection tally to 79,45,938. According to the Health Ministry, the active COVID-19 infections in the country currently stood at 6,26,224 as the number of patients recovered from the disease has risen to 71,98,810. With 483 patients succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours, the total death toll due to pandemic reached 1,19,536 in all as of now.

Maharashtra reported 3,645 new COVID-19 cases on Monday as opposed to 9,905 recoveries. The state’s total case tally reached 16,48,665 while its number of active cases dipped further to 1,34,137. With 84 more deaths, the total fatalities have reached 43,348 in the state.

The cases tally of Andhra Pradesh stood at 8,08,924 with 1,901 new infections added yesterday. The active infections under treatment stood at 28,770. The number of fatalities witnessed by the state stood low with 19 deaths. The overall death toll increased to 6,606.

As many as 76,726 samples were tested in the past day with a test positivity rate of 4.72%. So far, 73.47 lakh samples were tested and the overall test positivity rate was at 10.85%. The tests per million ratios also increased to 1.37 lakh and the cases per million increased 14,924.

With 3,130 fresh cases, Karnataka’s case tally jumped to 8,05,947. The active infections under treatment stood at 75,423 with 8,715 patients testing negative and the total deaths reaching 42 in the past 24 hours. The total recoveries have reached 7,19,558 and the death toll stood at 10,947.

Tamil Nadu’s tally rose to 7,11,713 as 2,708 more persons tested positive for COVID-19. The active infections stood at 29,268. As many as 4,014 persons were discharged on Monday. This took the total number of recoveries so far to 6,71,489.

Kerala reported 4,287 fresh cases taking its cumulative case tally to 3,97,218. The active cases stood at 93,745. With 7,107 patients being recovered during the day the recoveries rose to 3,02,017. The death toll mounted to 1,353 with 20 new deaths.
