India reported 3,62,632 new COVID-19 incidences and 4,128 fatalities on Wednesday. With this, the total confirmed cases in the nation went past 2.37 crores reaching 2,37,03,224, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load comprised 37,06,082 cases. While, the overall death toll due to COVID-19 has reached 2,58,353.
Maharashtra reported 46,781 new cases. The total case tally of the state rose to 52,26,710 while the active infection load comprised 5,46,129 cases. A total of 816 deaths were recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities to 78,007.Kerala reported 43,529 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 20,10,935. The active cases in the state comprised 4,32,787. Also, 95 new deaths pushed the death toll to 6,054.
Karnataka confirmed 39,998 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 20,53,191. The active cases of the state have surged to 5,92,182. As many as 516 deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 20,368.
A total of 27,763 new cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh on the day taking the confirmed cases to 14,53,679. The active cases stood at 2,54,118. As many as 372 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours taking the death toll of the state to 14,873.
Tamil Nadu recorded 30,355 new cases on Wednesday. The total case tally has reached 14,68,864 while the active infections went up to 1,72,735. As many as 293 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 16,471.
Andhra Pradesh saw 21,452 new cases on Wednesday. With this, the total caseload has reached 13,44,386. The active infection load now comprised 1,97,370 cases. As many as 89 recent deaths took the overall fatalities to 8,988.Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Wednesday included West Bengal (20,377 new cases), Uttar Pradesh (18,023), Rajasthan (16,384), Delhi (13,287), Haryana (12,490), Gujarat (11,017), Odisha (10,982), Chhattisgarh (10,150), Bihar (9,863), Madhya Pradesh (8,970), Punjab (8,271), Uttarakhand (7,749), Assam (5,657), Himachal Pradesh (4,977), Telangana (4,723), Jammu and Kashmir (4,509), Jharkhand (4,362), Goa (2,865) and Puducherry (2,007).
