India has reported 2,67,246 new COVID-19 incidences on Tuesday. The nation has been showing a decline in its daily number of COVID-19 cases recently, although the number of deaths from the infection is still going up. As many as 4,530 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 2,83,281. The total confirmed cases in the nation have climbed to 2,54,95,346, according to data from the union health ministry, while the active infection load comprised 32,21,822 cases.
Tamil Nadu recorded 33,059 new cases on Tuesday. The total case tally has reached 16,64,35 while the active infections went up to 2,42,929. As many as 364 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 18,369.
Kerala reported 31,337 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 22,00,707. The active caseload of the state comprised 3,47,627 cases. Also, 97 new deaths pushed the death toll to 6,613.
Karnataka confirmed 30,309 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 22,72,374. The active cases of the state stood at 5,75,028. As many as 525 new deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 22,838.
Maharashtra reported 1,291 new COVID-19 related deaths and 28,438 fresh cases on Tuesday. The total case tally of the state rose to 54,33,506 while the active infection load comprised 4,19,727 cases. The overall fatalities have reached 83,777.
Andhra Pradesh reported 21,320 new cases and 99 deaths on the day. The total caseload rose to 14,75,372 while the active infections stood at 2,11,501. The death toll went up to 9,580.
Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Tuesday included West Bengal (19,428 new cases), Odisha (10,321), Uttar Pradesh (8,673), Rajasthan (8,398), Haryana (7,774), Chhattisgarh (6,477), Gujarat (6,447), Madhya Pradesh (5,412), Bihar Punjab (7,066), (6,286), Delhi (4,482), Telangana (3,982), Assam (5,835), Jharkhand (2,925), Uttarakhand (4,785), Jammu and Kashmir (3,967), Himachal Pradesh (2,892), Goa (1,358), and Puducherry (1,797).
