India reported 67,289 fresh COVID-19 incidences on Wednesday. As many as 2,329 deaths were also recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities from the pandemic to 3,81,931. The country has recorded 2,96,99,588 COVID-19 cases so far. The active infection load presently comprised 8,21,378 cases, according to data from the union health ministry.
Kerala reported 13,270 new incidences on Wednesday. The total number of infections has reached 27,61,475, active infections comprised 1,09,799 cases. As many as 147 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 11,656.
Tamil Nadu recorded 10,448 new incidences on Wednesday. As many as 270 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 30,338. The total case tally has reached 23,88,746, of which 1,14,335 are active infections.
As many as 10,107 fresh cases and 1,236 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Wednesday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,15,390 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 59,34,880, of which 1,36,661 are active cases.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Wednesday included Karnataka (7,345), Andhra Pradesh (6,617), Assam (3,386), Odisha (3,535), West Bengal (3,187) and Telangana (1,489).
