India registers 91,755 new SARS-CoV-2 infections on Thursday
India reported 91,755 new COVID-19 incidences on Thursday. With as many as 3,412 fatalities recorded on the day, the overall number of deaths reported in the country due to the pandemic has reached 3,63,108. The country has recorded 2,92,73,882 cases so far, of which the active infection load comprised 11,18,956 cases, according to data from the union health ministry.

Tamil Nadu recorded 16,813 new incidences on Thursday. As many as 358 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 28,528. The total case tally has reached 23,08,838, of which 1,88,664 are active infections.

Kerala recorded 14,424 new incidences on Thursday. The total number of infections has reached 26,88,590, active infections comprised 1,35,296 cases. As many as 194 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 10,631.

As many as 12,207 fresh cases and 1,915 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Thursday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,03,748 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 58,76,087, of which 1,60,693 are active cases.

Karnataka saw 11,042 new COVID-19 incidences and 194 deaths on Thursday. The state has recorded 27,39,290 cases so far. The active caseload now comprised 2,10,652 cases. The death toll stood at 32,485.

Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Thursday included Andhra Pradesh (8,110), Odisha (6,097), West Bengal (5,274), Assam (3,756), Telangana (1,798), Punjab (1,311), Jammu and Kashmir (1,117) and Chhattisgarh (1,034).
