India recorded 3,79,280 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. As many as 3,646 deaths were reported on the day taking the overall fatalities to 2,04,812. The total confirmed cases soared to 1,83,68,212 in the country. The active infection load comprised 30,77,098 cases.
Maharashtra reported 63,309 new cases on Wednesday. The total case tally of the state rose to 44,73,394 while the active infection load comprised 6,73,481 cases. A total of 1,035 deaths were recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities to 67,214.
A total of 29,751 new cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh on the day taking the confirmed cases to 11,82,848. The active cases stood at 3,00,041. As many as 35,903 discharges and 265 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 11,943.
Delhi saw 25,986 new cases on Wednesday. With this, the total caseload has reached 10,98,051. The active infection load now comprised 1,03,424 cases. As many as 368 recent deaths took the overall fatalities to 15,377.
Karnataka confirmed 39,047 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 14,39,822. The active cases of the state have surged to 3,28,884. As many as 229 deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 15,036.
The active infections in Kerala surged to 2,66,642 on Wednesday. The state added 35,013 new incidences and 41 deaths on the day. The case tally went up to 14,95,378 while the death toll has reached 5,212.
Chhattisgarh reported 35,311 infections and 206 deaths on Wednesday. The total confirmed cases went up to 10,86,625, of which the active infections totalled 2,97,616. The death toll stood at 11,165.
Other states which reported a spike in cases on Wednesday included West Bengal (17,207 new cases), Tamil Nadu (16,665), Rajasthan (16,613), Chhattisgarh (15,563), Andhra Pradesh (14,669), Gujarat (14,120), Madhya Pradesh (12,758), Haryana (12,444), Bihar (13,374), Odisha (8,386), Jharkhand (8,075), Telangana (8,061), Punjab (6,904), Uttarakhand (6,054), Goa (3,101), Assam (3,045), Jammu and Kashmir (3,023), Himachal Pradesh (2,539), Puducherry (1,258).
