India recorded a grim milestone of fresh COVID-19 cases surpassing 3 lakh incidences reaching 3,15,735 on Wednesday. As many as 2,101 deaths were also reported during the day taking the total fatalities to 1,84,672. The total confirmed cases soared to 1,59,24,989 in the country. The active infection load comprised 22,84,411 cases.
Maharashtra reported as many as 67,468 new cases on Wednesday. The total case tally of the state soared to 40,27,827 while the active infection load comprised 6,95,747 cases. A total of 54,985 discharges and 568 new fatalities were recorded on the day. The number of fatalities have now reached 61,911.
A total of 33,106 new cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh on the day taking the confirmed cases to 9,42,511. The active cases stood at 2,42,265. As many as 14,198 discharges and 187 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 10,346
Delhi saw 24,638 new cases on Wednesday. With this the total caseload has reached 9,30,179. The active infection load now comprised 85,364 cases. As many as 249 recent deaths took the overall fatalities to 12,887.
Karnataka confirmed 23,558 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 12,22,202. The active cases of the state have surged to 1,76,188. The death toll of the state has reached 13,762 after recording 116 new fatalities. The state health minister K Sudhakar said that a health emergency will be declared in Karnataka soon and private hospitals will be asked to reserve 80 per cent of their beds for government referred Covid-19 patients.
The active infections in Kerala surged to 1,35,630 on Wednesday. The state added 22,414 new incidences and 22 deaths on the day. The case tally went up to 12,95,060 while the death toll went past the 5k mark to reach 5,001.
Rajasthan reported 14,622 infections, 3,765 discharges and 62 deaths on Wednesday. The total confirmed cases went up to 4,53,407 which the active infections totalled 96,366. The death toll stood at 3,330.
The active cases in Chhattisgarh continued to rise reaching 1,22,751 as the state registered 14,519 new cases on Wednesday. The new cases pushed the total confirmed case tally to 5,88,818. A total of 193 new deaths took the toll to 6,467.
