India reported 42,660 fresh COVID-19 incidences and 1,207 deaths on Friday. The country has recorded 3,07,94,768 SARS CoV2 infections so far. The overall fatalities from the pandemic have reached 4,07,174. The active infection load presently comprised 4,49,357 cases, according to data from the union health ministry.
With 13,563 new incidences, Kerala reported the highest daily Covid cases on Friday. The total number of infections has climbed to 30,39,029, active infections comprised 1,13,120 cases. As many as 130 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 14,380.
As many as 8,992 fresh cases and 738 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Friday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 rose to 1,25,034 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 61,40,968, of which 1,12,231 are active cases.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Friday included Andhra Pradesh (3,040), Tamil Nadu (3,039), Odisha (2,806), Assam (2,493), and Karnataka (2,290).
