India logs 41,683 new COVID cases on Wednesday
India reported 41,683 new COVID-19 incidences on Tuesday. With as many as 510 fatalities recorded on the day, the overall number of deaths reported in the country due to the pandemic escalated to 4,19,021. The country recorded 3,12,56,839 cases so far, of which the active infection load comprised 4,03,605 cases, according to data from the union health ministry.

With 17,481 new incidences, Kerala recorded the highest number of daily Covid cases on Tuesday. The total number of infections has reached 32,05,197, active infections comprised 1,29,640 cases. As many as 106 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 15,618.

Maharashtra recorded 8,159 new cases on Tuesday. The state also recorded 165 new deaths taking the total number of fatalities from COVID-19 to 1,30,918 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 62,37,755, of which 94,745 are active cases.

Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Tuesday included Andhra Pradesh (2,527), Odisha (1,927), Tamil Nadu (1,891), Karnataka (1,639) and Assam (1,547).
