India reported 1,34,044 new COVID-19 incidences on Wednesday. The country has reported 2,84,41,079 such cases so far, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load presently comprised 17,08,666 cases. As many as 2,898 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 3,38,014.
Tamil Nadu recorded 25,317 new incidences on Wednesday. The total case tally has reached 21,48,346 active infections comprised 2,88,702 cases. As many as 483 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 25,205.
Kerala recorded 19,661 new cases and 213 deaths on Wednesday. The total caseload has reached 25,66,001 and active cases stood at 1,92,513. The total fatalities have reached 9,223.
Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Wednesday included Karnataka (16,387), Maharashtra (15,169), Andhra Pradesh (12,768), West Bengal (8,923), Odisha (8,399), Assam (4,178), Telangana (2,384), Punjab (2,214), Gujarat (1,333), Uttar Pradesh (1,283),Rajasthan (1,276), Bihar (1,158), Bihar (1,158), Haryana (1,171), Jammu and Kashmir (1,718), and Uttarakhand (1,003).
