India logged 38,109 new Covid incidences on Friday

India reported 38,109 new COVID-19 incidences on Friday. With as many as 560 fatalities recorded on the day, the overall number of deaths from the pandemic has escalated to 4,13,123. The country has recorded 3,10,63,987 cases so far, of which, the active infection load comprises 4,18,361 cases, according to the data from the union health ministry.

With 13,750 new incidences, Kerala reported the highest number of daily Covid cases on Friday. The total number of infections has reached 31,30,833 in the state, active infections comprised 1,21,941 cases. As many as 130 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 15,155.

As many as 7,761 cases and 167 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Friday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,26,727 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 61,97,018, of which 1,01,337 are active cases.

Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Friday included Andhra Pradesh (2,345), Tamil Nadu (2,312), Odisha (2,070), Karnataka (1,806) and Assam (1,782).
