India confirms 2.76L new COVID-19 cases and 3877 deaths on Wednesday

India reported 2,76,193 new COVID-19 incidences on Wednesday. With this, the total confirmed cases in the nation have climbed to 2,57,71,539, according to data from the union health ministry, while the active infection load comprised 31,25,056 cases.As many as 3,877 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 2,87,157.

Tamil Nadu recorded 34,875 new cases on Wednesday. The total case tally has reached 16,99,225 while the active infections went up to 2,53,576. As many as 365 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 18,734.

Karnataka confirmed 34,281 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 23,06,655. The active cases of the state stood at 5,58,890. As many as 468 new deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 23,306.

Maharashtra reported 594 new COVID-19 related deaths and 34,031 fresh cases on Wednesday. The total case tally of the state rose to 54,67,537 while the active infection load comprised 4,01,695 cases. The overall fatalities have reached 84,371.

Kerala reported 32,762 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 22,33,469. The active caseload of the state comprised 3,31,864 cases. Also, 112 new deaths pushed the death toll to 6,725.

Andhra Pradesh reported 23,160 new cases and 106 deaths on the day. The total caseload rose to 14,98,532 while the active infections stood at 2,09,736. The death toll went up to 9,686.

Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Wednesday included West Bengal (19,006 new cases), Odisha (11,099), Rajasthan (9,849), Uttar Pradesh (7,186), Bihar (6,059), Haryana (6,818), Punjab (6,302), Assam (6,143), Gujarat (5,246), Madhya Pradesh (5,065), Chhattisgarh (5,680), Uttarakhand (4,492), Delhi (3,846), Jammu and Kashmir (3,969), Telangana (3,837), Himachal Pradesh (3,396), Jharkhand (1,894), Puducherry (1,759) and Goa (1,209).
