India reported 11,067 positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. With this, the total caseload has escalated to 1,08,58,371, of which the active cases remained at 1,41,511. As many as 13,087 discharges and 94 deaths from the infection were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the union ministry of health. The total recoveries have reached 1,05,61,608 and the death toll went up to 1,55,280 till now.India has been recording less than 150 daily COVID-19 deaths since January 30.
Kerala saw 5,214 new COVID-19 incidences on Tuesday. The state recorded over 6,475 recoveries and 19 deaths taking the total recoveries and death toll to 9,09,102 and 3,903 respectively. The total caseload currently stands at 9,77,395, while the active infections have declined to 64,133, according to the state officials.
Maharashtra saw 2,515 new cases, 2,554 recoveries and 35 deaths on Tuesday. The total caseload of the state now stands at 20,48,802 while the active infections went below to 34,640. The total recoveries have reached 19,61,525. With 35 deaths the total fatalities have went up to 51,360.
No death was reported in Delhi due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the first time the city achieved this record since April last year. According to the Delhi health department, the city saw 100 new cases and 144 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
A total of 10,33,24,655 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far. Of these, 7,36,903 were tested on Tuesday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed.
The number of healthcare and frontline workers vaccinated against COVID-19 has reached 66,11,561 on day 25 of the nationwide inoculation drive, said the union health ministry.
