India adds 3.26 lakh SARS-CoV-2  infections and 3,876 deaths in 24 hours
India reported 3,26,014 new COVID-19 incidences and 3,876 fatalities on Friday. With this, the total confirmed cases in the nation has climbed to 2,43,72,243, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load comprised 36,69,573 cases. While the overall death toll due to COVID-19 has reached 2,66,229.

Maharashtra reported 39,923 new cases on Friday. The total case tally of the state rose to 53,09,215 while the active infection load comprised 5,19,254 cases. A total of 695 new deaths were recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities to 79,552.

Karnataka confirmed 41,779 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 21,30,267. The active cases of the state have surged to 5,98,605. As many as 373 deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 21,085.

Kerala reported 34,694 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 20,85,584. The active caseload of the state comprised 4,42,191 cases. Also, 93 new deaths pushed the death toll to 6,244.

Tamil Nadu recorded 31,892 new cases on Friday. The total case tally has reached 15,31,377 while the active infections went up to 1,95,339. As many as 288 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 17,056.

Andhra Pradesh saw 22,018 new cases on Friday. With this, the total caseload has reached 13,88,803. The active infection load now comprised 2,03,787 cases. As many as 96 recent deaths took the overall fatalities to 9,173.

Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Friday included West Bengal (20,846 new cases), Uttar Pradesh (15,647), Rajasthan (14,289), Odisha (12,390), Chhattisgarh (7,594), Gujarat (9,995), Madhya Pradesh (8,087), Haryana (10,608), Bihar (7,494), Telangana (4,305), Punjab (8,035), Assam (4,076), Jharkhand (3,776), Uttarakhand (5,775), Jammu and Kashmir (3,027), Himachal Pradesh (3,044), Goa (2,455) and Puducherry (1,974).
