The Union Government has created an online data pool to include details of healthcare professionals and volunteers, for reference by authorities at the state, district or municipal levels to meet the necessity for human resources for combating and containing COVID-19.
The database for professionals including AYUSH doctors, nurses and volunteers from NYKs, NCC NSS, PMGKVY, ex-Servicemen etc will be made available on the dashboard of the website https://covidwarriors.gov.in. This was communicated through a letter by Dr Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary MSME and Chairman of Empowered Group-4 on human resource and Dr C Chandramouli, Secretary DoPT to all Chief Secretaries.
A state-wise and district wise availability of the frontline healthcare workers and volunteers from various groups along with contact details of the nodal officers will be made available.
The information can be availed by various authorities under necessary circumstances to prepare Crisis Management/Contingency Plans based on the available manpower, in coordination with nodal officers for each group.
Dr Panda also emphasises the usage of the Integrated Government Online training (iGOT) launched by the government of India for training and capacity building of the frontline healthcare workers to handle the COVID-19 pandemic efficiently.
Some of the training courses on the portal include basics of COVID-19 infection, prevention and control, use of PPE, quarantine and isolation, management of COVID-19 cases (SARI, ADRS, Septic Shock), laboratory sample collection and testing, ICU care and ventilation management.
This flexitime module can be used online at any time from the portal. Already 44 modules which are part of 12 courses have been on-board with 105 videos and 29 documents, says Dr Panda through letter says the government’s Press Information Bureau.
It further says that more such modules are being uploaded on the portal on a daily basis urging the State/District and local bodies to train the identified resource on an urgent basis. The portal is available on the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s DIKSHA platform and can be accessed at https://igot.gov.in/igot/.
