COVID-19: Jump of over 500 cases in 24 hours in India; Global count crosses a million

Confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection jumped more than 500 in the last 24 hours in India taking the total number to 2301 after Maharshtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Kerala continue posting new cases in higher numbers. The country registered 56 deaths so far while it is under a 21-day nation-wide lockdown. 

The virus infection cases are rising globally in the sixth month even after the first outbreak of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) emerged in the Wuhan region of China in November.  The total number of cases in the world already crossed a million at 10,16,128 on Friday and the death toll rose to 53,069. A total of 2,11, 655 patients have been cured till today.
