Timetable for Revised medical UG curriculum to be on college websites by May 1May 1, 2019
The Medical Council of India (MCI) has beseeched the deans of all medical colleges in India to upload the time table for teaching of the revised competency-based Undergraduate (UG) curriculum on their websites latest by May 1.The new curriculum will be applicable from the new academic year starting in August 2019.
“It was decided earlier by the Board of Governors that the dean/principal of all medical colleges under the MCI would upload the yearly time table for UG teaching on their website latest by May 1,” noted the letter from MCI.
The new skill-based, more hands-on training syllabus, which is open to annual revision, was last revised in 1997.
“Students will be exposed to clinical experience from the first year onwards and the syllabus is more global, with focus on practical knowledge and the integration of knowledge systems,” said a senior health official to The Hindu.
