India registers 11,528 COVID-19 cases on Sunday

India has reported 11,528 COVID-19 incidences on Sunday. With this, the total case tally of the country has risen to 1,08,38,843. The active infections stood at 1,46,108. The total number of recoveries have escalated to 1,05,33,076 with 11,502 new discharges reported in the past day. The country also recorded 84 fatalities in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll due to the COVID-19 to 1,55,114.

With 6,075 new infections confirmed on Sunday, Kerala’s total caseload has gone up to 9,68,439 as of now. The active infections stand at 67,663. The state reported 5,948 discharges on the day pushing the total recoveries to 8,96,668. With 19 recent deaths, the total fatalities have mounted to 3,868.

The total case tally of Maharashtra has reached 20,44,071 with 2,673 new incidences reported yesterday. The total active infections have declined to 35,948 in the state after recording 1,622 new recoveries and 30 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total recoveries have reached 19,55,548 and the death toll has reached 51,310.

Over 57,75,322 vaccine doses have been administered to healthcare and frontline workers till Sunday through the countrywide COVID-19 vaccination programme. India is now the third topmost country with the highest doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered, after the USA and the UK, said the union ministry of health and family welfare.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 20,19,00,614 samples have been tested up to 7 February with 5,32,236 samples being analysed on Sunday.
