India reported 62,176 fresh COVID-19 incidences on Tuesday. As many as 2,539 deaths were also recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities from the pandemic to 3,79,601. The country has recorded 2,96,32,261 COVID cases so far. The active infection load presently comprised 8,60,362 cases, according to data from the union health ministry.
Kerala reported 12,246 new incidences on Tuesday. The total number of infections has reached 27,48,205, active infections comprised 1,12,365 cases. As many as 166 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 11,509.
Tamil Nadu recorded 11,805 new incidences on Tuesday. As many as 267 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 30,068. The total case tally has reached 23,78,298, of which 1,25,215 are active infections.
As many as 7,652 fresh cases and 1,458 fatalities were reported in Maharashtra on Tuesday. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 has surged to 1,14,154 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 59,24,773, of which 1,38,361 are active cases.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Tuesday included Andhra Pradesh (5,741), Karnataka (5,041), Assam (3,415), Odisha (3,405), West Bengal (3,268) and Telangana (1,556).
