New COVID-19 cases in India fall below 2 lakhs on Monday

India reported 1,95,810 new COVID-19 incidences on Sunday. The total confirmed cases recorded thus far in the nation has climbed to 2,69,47,621, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load presently comprised 25,81,682 cases. As many as 3,496 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 3,07,249.

Tamil Nadu recorded 35,483 new cases on Sunday. The total case tally has reached 18,42,344 while the active infections went up to 2,94,143. As many as 422 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 20,468.

Karnataka confirmed 25,311 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 24,50,215. The active cases of the state stood at 4,40,435. As many as 529 new deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 25,811.

Maharashtra reported 592 new COVID-19 related deaths and 22,122 fresh cases on Sunday. The total case tally of the state rose to 56,02,019 while the active infection load comprised 3,27,580 cases. The overall fatalities have reached 89,212.

Kerala reported 17,821 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 23,65,788. The active caseload of the state comprised 2,59,175 cases. As many as 196 new deaths pushed the toll to 7,555.

Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Sunday included West Bengal (17,883), Andhra Pradesh (12,994), Odisha (11,059), Assam (6,221), Punjab (4,481), Rajasthan (4,414), Chhattisgarh (4,162), Uttar Pradesh (3,894), Haryana (3,757), Gujarat (3,187), Telangana (3,043), Madhya Pradesh (2,936), Bihar (2,844), Jammu and Kashmir (2,237), Uttarakhand (2,071), Himachal Pradesh (1,949), Delhi (1,550), Goa (1,401) and Jharkhand (1,394).
