India’s new COVID-19 incidences drop to 2.59L on Thursday

India reported 2,59,242 new COVID-19 incidences on Thursday. The total confirmed cases recorded thus far in the nation have climbed to 2,60,30,781, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load presently comprised 30,22,889 cases.As many as 4,209 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 2,91,366.

Tamil Nadu recorded 35,579 new cases on Thursday. The total case tally has reached 17,34,804 while the active infections went up to 2,63,390. As many as 397 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 19,131.

Kerala reported 30,491 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 22,63,960. The active caseload of the state comprised 3,17,858 cases. As many as 128 new deaths pushed the toll to 6,853.

Maharashtra reported 984 new COVID-19 related deaths and 29,911 fresh cases on Thursday. The total case tally of the state rose to 54,97,448 while the active infection load comprised 3,83,253 cases. The overall fatalities have reached 85,355.

Karnataka confirmed 28,869 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 23,35,524. The active cases of the state stood at 5,34,954. As many as 548 new deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 23,854.

Andhra Pradesh reported 22,610 new cases and 114 deaths on the day. The total caseload rose to 15,21,142 while the active infections stood at 2,09,134. The death toll went up to 9,800.

Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Thursday included West Bengal (19,091 new cases), Odisha (11,498), Rajasthan (7,680), Uttar Pradesh (6,681), Assam (6,573), Haryana (6,457), Bihar (5,871), Punjab (5,469), Chhattisgarh (5,212), Madhya Pradesh (4,952), Gujarat (4,773), Jammu and Kashmir (4,169), Uttarakhand (3,658), Telangana (3,660), Delhi (3,231), Himachal Pradesh (2,648), Jharkhand (2,056), Puducherry (1,957), Goa (1,582).
