India’s new Covid-19 cases cross 4.14 lakh on ThursdayMay 7, 2021 0 By FM
India recorded 4,14,280 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. The country also recorded 3,923 new deaths on the day taking the overall fatalities to 2,34,074. With this, the total confirmed cases soared to 2,14,85,383 in the country. The active infection load comprised 36,44,352 cases.
Maharashtra reported 62,194 new cases. The total case tally of the state rose to 49,42,736 while the active infection load comprised 6,39,075 cases. A total of 853 deaths were recorded on the day taking the overall fatalities to 73,515.
Karnataka confirmed 49,058 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 17,90,104. The active cases of the state have surged to 5,17,075. As many as 328 deaths reported on the day took the total fatalities to 17,212.
Kerala reported 42,464 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. The active cases in the state comprised more than 3.9 lakhs reaching 3,90,906. The overall caseload reported till now has reached 17,86,397. Also, 63 new deaths pushed the death toll to 5,629.
A total of 26,622 new cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh on the day taking the confirmed cases to 14,25,916. The active cases stood at 2,59,844. As many as 350 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours taking the death toll of the state to 14,501.
Tamil Nadu reported 24,898 new cases on Thursday. The total case tally has reached 12,97,500 while the active infections went up to 1,31,468. As many as 195 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 14,974.
Andhra Pradesh saw 21,954 new cases on Thursday. With this, the total caseload has reached 12,28,186. The active infection load now comprised 1,82,329 cases. As many as 72 recent deaths took the overall fatalities to 8,446.
Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Thursday included Delhi (19,133), West Bengal (18,431), Rajasthan (17,532), Bihar (15,126), Haryana (14,840), Chhattisgarh (13,846), Gujarat (12,545), Madhya Pradesh (12,421), Odisha (10,521), Punjab (8,841), Uttarakhand (8,517), Jharkhand (6,974), Telangana (6,026), Assam (4,936), Jammu and Kashmir (4,926) Himachal Pradesh (3,942), Goa (3,869) and Puducherry (1,510).
