India reports 12K new SARS-CoV-2 infections on Wednesday

India reported 12,539 new COVID-19 incidences on Wednesday. With this, the total caseload of the state has climbed to 1,08,71,060. The number of recoveries has surged to 1,05,71,629, after recording 11,796 discharges in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Thursday.

The country currently has 1,42,562 active COVID-19 cases, which account for only 1.31 per cent of its total caseload, the data stated. The death toll in the country has gone up to 1,55,399 with 110 more people succumbing to the viral infection.The national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.26 per cent, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.43 per cent.

The total COVID19 infections in Kerala has reached 9,83,375 after recording 5,980 new infections on Wednesday. The active infections in the state stood at 64,350. With 5,745 new discharges reported in the past day took the total recoveries to 9,14,847. As many as 18 deaths took the death toll to 3,921.

Maharashtra saw 3,451 new infections, 2,421 recoveries and 30 deaths on Wednesday. The total caseload of the state has risen to 20,52,253, of which the active infections stood at 35,633. The total recoveries have risen to 19,63,946 and the death toll has risen to 51,390.

As on 10th February 2021, a total number of 68,26,898 individuals have received the COVID-19 vaccinations. The number of people vaccinated yesterday was 2,15,133 across the nation. The Delhi government on Wednesday said it will add 82 more vaccination sites across the city from Thursday, taking the total to 265. A total of 14,743 beneficiaries took the COVID-19 vaccinations in the city on Wednesday.
