India’s COVID-19 case tally rises to 1.08 cr; over 44 lakhs vaccinated

India reported 12,401 new COVID-19 incidences on Thursday. The total active infections stood at 1,48,750 while the overall positive cases recorded so far has elevated to 1,08,03,533. The total recoveries have reached 1,04,95,401, with 15,888 of them getting discharged yesterday. With 120 recent deaths, the total fatalities have climbed to 1,54,862.

The total confirmed cases have surged to 9,50,812 in Kerala with 6,102 new infections reported on Thursday. The active infections stood at 68,869. The state also reported 6,341 new discharges in the past day taking the total recoveries to 8,77,889. With 17 new deaths, the total fatalities climbed to 3,814.

Maharashtra reported 2,736 new infections, 5,339 recoveries and 46 deaths on Thursday. The state has reported a total of 20,36,002 confirmed cases so far. The active infections have declined to 34,862. The total recoveries have reached 19,48,674 and the death toll has stood at 51,215.

A total of 19,99,31,795 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to 4th February. Of these, 7,15,776 samples were tested yesterday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). India has administered over 44,49,552 vaccine doses till now, according to the official reports.
