India’s COVID tally reaches 93.5 million

India reported 41,353 new COVID-19 incidences on Saturday pushing the case tally to 93,51,224. The death toll climbed to 1,36,238 with 486 new fatalities. Of the total caseload, the overall active cases remained at 4,53,960 as of now. Meanwhile, the number of people who have recuperated from the virus infection has reached 87,58,886 with 41,177 patients getting recovered yesterday.

Maharashtra reported 6,185 new COVID-19 cases as opposed to 4,089 recoveries on Friday. The total case tally has risen to 18,08,550 with the number of active cases climbing to 87,969. The state saw 85 deaths which took the total fatalities to 46,898.

Kerala on Friday reported 3,966, new positive cases. Only 39,108 samples were tested yesterday, despite claims by the State government that testing would be raised to at least 70,000 per day. The test positivity rate stood at 10.14%. The cumulative cases rose to 5,87,708 of which 63,896 were active cases. The death toll reached has 2,172 with 23 deaths.

Delhi recorded 98 new deaths and 5,482 COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the infection tally to 5,56,744. The active cases stood at 38,181. The death toll rose to 8,909, as of now.

West Bengal added 3,489 new infections after conducting 45,100 tests, pushing the total caseload to 4,73,987. The active infections stood at 24,617 in the state. 46 patients succumbed to the infection taking the fatalities to 8,270.

Rajasthan saw 3,093 positive cases on Friday pushing its COVID-19 case tally to 2,60,040. Of the total caseload 28,183 are active infections at present with 2,29,602 patients getting recovered and 2,255 succumbing to the infection so far.

Uttar Pradesh added new cases at 2,298 pushing the caseload to 5,37,747. The active infections added up to 25,639 with 5,04,411 recoveries and 7,697 fatalities reported so far.

With 2,135 new COVID incidences the caseload of Haryana rose to 2,28,746. The active cases declined to 20,400 with 2,484 new recoveries and 29 recent deaths.

Himachal Pradesh saw a spike in daily cases reaching 830. The total cases rose to 38,327 with active cases escalating to 8,205. As many as 29,483 patients have recuperated from the infection until now.13 new deaths took the total deaths to 602.

Punjab added 808 new cases pushing its case tally to 1,50,086. The active cases rose to 7,719. The total recoveries stood at 1,37,630 and the deaths totalled to 4,737, by far.
