Overall case count drops in India; Kerala, Delhi report surgeNovember 3, 2020 0 By FM
India reported fresh cases below 40,000 on Monday. With the new cases at 37,592, the cumulative caseload of the nation climbed to 82,66,914 of which the total active infections add up to 5,40,883. The number of patients recovered from the disease has risen to 76,01,429 with 58,524 patients getting cured/discharged yesterday. The number of fatalities due to pandemic mounted to 1,23,139 in all with 497 recent death reported in the past 24 hrs.
The rising daily cases in Kerala and Delhi currently remain a big concern as overall fresh cases of novel coronavirus continue to decline in India.
Eighty per cent of the new COVID-19 cases are concentrated in 10 states/UT, with Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra and West Bengal reporting the maximum numbers, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
Kerala reported 4,138 new cases on Monday pushing its case tally to 4,44,269. The active infections of the state stood at 86,684 with 3,55,943 patients turning negative for the virus infection and 1,534 succumbing to it. As many as 7,108 patients were discharged yesterday and 21 lost their lives to the infection.
Delhi, on Monday, saw fresh COVID-19 incidences at 4,001 taking the case tally to 3,96,371. The active infections stood at 33,308. With 4,824 patients getting cured/discharged yesterday the overall recoveries rose to 3,56,459. The death toll mounted to 6,604 with 42 new deaths from the virus infection.
Maharashtra also saw cases at 4000 on Monday at 4,009 opposed to 10,225 recoveries. The new cases took its total caseload to 16,87,784 as the active infection remained at 1,18,777. The total recoveries stood at 15,24,304 and the deaths have reached 44,128 to date.
West Bengal added 3,957 new cases yesterday. The states’ total caseload stood at 3,81,608 and the active infections at 36,576. As many as 3,38,075 patients have been recovered from the infection so far while 6,957 lost lives.
Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh on Monday showed a declining trend in its daily COVID-19 cases reporting 2,576 and 1,916 cases respectively.
The overall cases in Karnataka stood at 8,29,640 with the active cases descending to 44,805. The total recoveries rose to 7,73,595 and the death toll has reached 11,221.
The total cases in Andhra Pradesh stood at 8,27,882 with the active cases declining to 22,538. The total recoveries stood at 7,98,625 and the total deaths at 6,719.
