Tuesday spike in new cases is back to over 50K mark; India’s active caseload at 5.86 lakhAugust 5, 2020 0 By FM
India reported 52,509 new COVID-19 cases and 857 fatalities in the last 24 hours taking the total confirmed case in the country to 1,908,254 in all. The active caseload currently stands at 5,86,244 while 12,82,215 patients have recovered so far, as per the data released by the Health Ministry. The ministry informed that as many as 1,28,2215 patients have been discharged from various hospitals until now while the death toll stands at 39,795.
The COVID caseload of Maharashtra stands at 4,579,56 as of now. 5,063 new cases, 6,501 discharges and 108 deaths were reported in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The total number of cases in the state is now at 2,68,285 with 55,152 being active as of now. Delhi recorded 674 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 1,39,156. The death toll rose to 4,033 with 12 more fatalities reported yesterday.
Globally, as of August 4, there have been 1,81,42,718 confirmed cases including 6,91,013 deaths, reported to WHO.
