India reported 1,26,649 new COVID-19 incidences on Monday. The country has reported 2,81,73,655 such cases so far, according to data from the union health ministry. The active infection load presently comprised 18,90,975 cases. As many as 2,781 fatalities were recorded during the day pushing the overall death toll due to the pandemic to 3,31,909.
Only Tamil Nadu recorded new incidences above 20K, on Monday. The state reported 27,936 new cases pushing the total case tally to 20,96,516. The active infections comprised 3,01,781 cases. As many as 478 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 24,232.
Other states which also reported a spike in fresh cases on Monday included Karnataka (16,604), Maharashtra (15,077),Kerala (12,300), West Bengal (10,137), Odisha (8,313), Andhra Pradesh (7,943), Assam (4,348), Telangana (2,524), Punjab (2,192), Chhattisgarh (2,163), Gujarat (1,681), Jammu and Kashmir (1,525), Rajasthan (1,498), Uttar Pradesh (1,472), Haryana (1,246), Madhya Pradesh (1,205), Uttarakhand (1,156), and Bihar (1,113).
