COVID Update: India worse than China with 86,000 positive cases

India, with more than 86,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection reported so far, has become worse than China as far as the pandemic is concerned. The country reported close to 4000 new cases and 103 deaths in the last 24 hours and Maharashtra remained the worst hit with a total of 27,574 positive cases and 1019 deaths till Saturday. 

While Tamil Nadu has reported 3 deaths on Saturday take its total number of fatalities to 74. The state has confirmed 477 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 10,585.   

Globally, US is the worst hit with 1.48 minion cases and 88,548 deaths followed by Spain, which reported 2.74 lakh cases and 27,459 deaths. China, where the pandemic was emerged in November 2019, has so far reported 82,941 cases and 4,633 deaths.
