COVID death toll in India rises to 603; Confirmed cases at 18,985

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 touched 18,985 in India on April 21, with the date toll crossing 603 across the country.   While Maharashtra remained the most affected with 4,669 total confirmed cases. The state has reported 466 new cases, the highest spike today. 

Kerala today reported 19 new cases of Covid-19, the highest per day in the state in nearly two weeks. 13 of these people had returned from abroad and 4 from other states, said a release from the health department. 16 patients tested negative. There are 117 people now undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the state.  

Tamil Nadu reported one more death and 76 fresh cases of the novel Coronavirus on Tuesday taking the total number of positive cases in the State to 1596 with 18 deaths. 178 patients were discharged taking the total number of recovered patients to 635.
