India reported 35,506 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the cumulative case tally to 95,35,234. The number of active infections stood at 4,21,604 with 40,908 people getting cured/discharged yesterday and 526 succumbing to the infection. The overall recoveries have reached 89,72,711 while the deaths have escalated to 1,38,686.
Kerala reported 6,316 new cases on Wednesday. The state had tested 57,000 samples during the day. The case tally escalated to 6,14,674, of which 61,462 were active infections. With 5,924 patients getting cured yesterday the total recoveries rose to 5,50,788. 28 new deaths took the fatalities to 2,299.
Delhi witnessed 3,944 new cases after testing 78,949 samples in the last 24 hours. Of the total 5,78,324 cases, 5,38,680 people have recovered and there are 30,302 active cases. Also, 82 more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, pushing the toll to 9,342, as per the bulletin.
“Positivity declined to 5% today from 15.26% on 7th Nov. Highest total tests 78,949 and highest RT PCR test 36,370 ever with lowest RT PCR positivity of 8.99%. Steadily corona cases and positivity rates are coming down,” said Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
Of the total 18,693 beds available for COVID-19 treatment in the city, 60.5% were vacant. About 73.9% of ICU beds with ventilators for COVID-19 patients were occupied till Wednesday night and 59.7% of ICU beds without ventilators were taken, as per the government data.
Maharashtra reported 3,350 new COVID-19 incidences after testing 73,800 tests on Wednesday. The total case tally now stands at 18,32,176 with 88,537 of them being active infections under treatment. With 3,796 patients getting recovered yesterday the overall recoveries have risen to 16,95,208. As many as 111 recent deaths took the toll to 47,357.
West Bengal saw 3,271 new cases, 3,275 recoveries and 51 deaths on Wednesday. The state had tested 42,600 samples during the day. The case tally stood at 4,90,070 and the active cases remained at 24,166, as of now. The death toll has reached 8,527 in the state.
The active infections in Himachal Pradesh went below 8K to reach 7,813 after seeing 1,027 recoveries and 11 deaths on Wednesday. The state reported 633 new cases in the last 24 hours after conducting 8,200 tests. The case tally stood at 41,860 and the recoveries totalled 33,336 while the fatalities rose to 667.
