President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Apollomedics Super Specialty hospital in Lucknow on 24th February, 2019. It is the 72nd hospital owned by Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Asia’s largest hospital chain, which has a total bed capacity of 10000 across the country. The group also runs 3500 pharmacies, over 90 primary care and diagnostics clinics, and more than 160 Apollo Munich Insurance branches.
The new hospital accommodates 330 beds, of which 110 are dedicated exclusively for critical care. The Apollomedics super specialty hospital provides a 24 hour diagnostic service with curative preventive and rehabilitative care across various specialties including cardiac, oncology, neurosciences, gastrosciences, renal sciences, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, critical care and 24/7 trauma care.
Speaking on the occasion, the President emphasized on the importance of quality and affordable healthcare in the country, and expressed confidence saying that the hospital will prove to be a great healthcare asset as it will offer prompt and high-quality treatment to a large number of people especially in Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh.
